How can you manage your relationship with a person with borderline personality disorder (BPD)?
A partner by definition is someone with whom you both push in the same direction. Someone with bpd, on the other hand, will drag you down into her (most likely a bpd is a she) own hole. So she will do all the dragging while you’ll be struggling to survive. That by definition is not a partner. And make no mistake. If she has bpd she is not, never was and never will be a partner.
I know some mental health professionals will strongly disagree. I hope they do. It’s their job to look after the mentally disordered. To deal with them. Their job. Not yours. If you want to help that’s what you can do – make sure she gets the best treatments available. But don’t get sucked into the bpd drama. Your life’s in danger
